Europe's middle ages took place from 5th-16th century. The medieval period is an era before the Rennaissance and is characterized by the height of religions, most especially Roman Catholicism. It was when Papacy started, which has become the most controversial power in this world. The Pope, who is the most famous and most powerful human being on Earth, leads the Papacy. The Pope is said to be the successor of St. Peter, whom God called the "rock" where He would build His church. Middle ages or the medieval period in Europe has different signification in its different region.
One example is the medieval France. The medieval France signifies the modern period of France from the great Charlemagne's death in 814 to the mid-15th century. The Carolingian empire and the vicious Merovingian royalty had lived during this era. One trace of the medieval period of France is the invasion of the cruel Viking invasion. Of course, who would ever forget the epidemic of Black Death? Throughout the medieval ages, France has molded its unique French identity.
Even though France has been among the best European regions because of its history, the entire Europe has an affluent history also and an interesting culture. The early beginning of European middle age is when Clovis conquered France as well as Belgium, and he converted the terrorists of the area to Catholic Christians. The period ended when Henry VIII succeeded Henry VII.

Athens has grown into a full blown city and its modernity has brought many disadvantages to the Greek capital. Air pollution has also passed by the Athenian sky. However, the government of Greece made measures in order to get rid of the pollution and improve Athens' atmosphere. This is because the Olympic competition is usually held in Greece. Sure, Athens is comparable to France in terms of historical affluence and grandiose beauty. But, both places have their uniqueness. France has a royal aura while Greece has a classic aura. Some say that France is better than Greece. For me, Greece is more elegant because of its gods and godesses. Even though Greece doesn't hold grand film festivals like Cannes in France, it is still rich in literature and culture.
